  • I can’t believe somebody came up with that. So stupid!

  • This is just…upsetting.

  • @skylar_rose - Agreed…talk about damaging a little girl’s self image?

  • @Smokin_SultrySally - I know…raising a girl to meet her OWN expectations, rather than society’s is hard enough!

  • this is absolutely sickening. what is the world diving into

i am for keeping it a secret if the mommy absolutely has to get surgery
and excuse me while i puke
    brb

  • @bonmots - NO puking…i need you to rail at the heathen!

  • @galadrial - it makes you wonder what somebody will come up with next.  “let’s all be actually plastic!” @bonmots - I don’t know what I would think if somebody has showed me something like that, it’s the opposite since I was raised around hippies (hippies with money to be fair), but they would never get cut up to try to look different or have machines sucking on their bodies, I mean never! If I ever had any kids they would not see this stuff under my roof. Wow, I just sounded ancient.

  • Another example of the sickening obsession people have with society’s so called ideal image of beauty.

  • I don’t think I’ve ever known a child that didn’t already think their mom was beautiful. This book is total propaganda.

  • Oh, the humanity. *sigh*

  • Another sick sale for human vanity.

  • i can sympathize with reconstructive plastic surgery when someone has for example been in an accident. other than that i think it’s horrible and to influence a child to think it’s at all (apart from in cases i mentioned) is horrifying.

  • @TheSutraDude - And i’m with you…but selling people on the idea of artificial perfection is only going to mess up worse…

  • @galadrial - in my mind a compulsion to change one’s physical appearance is an indication of a deep-seated insecurity about oneself. all the plastic surgery in the world won’t fix that.

  • @TheSutraDude - I always remember the beauty advice given by Max Factor…THE Max Factor, who started off as a makeup artist in Hollywood. He said you were supposed to use make up not to change your features…but to emphasize your BEST ones. I’m 51, and the people who strike me as beautiful use very little marekup.

The young ones who take 2 hours to put it on usually end up looking like showgirls, or drag queens…fine if you are either…but I’m pretty sure that’s not what they were trying for!

Almost EVERY person I know who went the cosmetic route (for anything but to repair damage, or correct a  genetic malformation) ended up very unhappy with it. It’s not the gold ticket to the Wonka factory…and since looks constantly change, it just sets you up for the next surgery…and that is stupid, IMHO….

  • @galadrial - it’s stupid in my opinion too and sad. women are so marketed to it’s ridiculous. all men have to do is drink vodka or budweiser as far as marketing goes which is bad enough of course. i’ve never cared for women who wear a ton of makeup. i’ve always been able to see through makeup anyway. i actually prefer none but i can appreciate what Max Factor said.

  • Wow. Is all I can say.  Anyone that would actually buy that book needs serious help.
