All The Information In The World...
EXCEPT where there is very little information.
I was doing some research last night on a topic, siblings and Aspergers. I've worked with a few, but I was curious to see if there was anything I was overlooking. So I tucked in with a copy of the Oasis System, and Tony Attwood, both highly regarded resources. And hit a brick wall. The Oasis book must have 800 pages...there were barely four references to siblings---each not even a paragraph. So I tried siblings and the handicapped, looking for something applicable. Same deal. A lot of online articles on that specific topic...but very little actual help. It's like looking up something definitive on menopause, or diabetes. The only thing all three have in common is that they are highly individualized...and therefore have virtually no "tried and true" methods and techniques for coping.
C'est la vie...but it's frustrating indeed to be surrounded with millions (literally) of references on anything you could wish...and very little about what you NEED to know...

Unfortunately, I'm an only child, so can't be of much help...:(
@PhoenixFighting - It's ok...I have worked with siblings...but it never hurts to keep looking!
That is frustrating. I'm surprised there is not more available on the topic. I'm also ever amazed each time I type a keyword in the Google search field on the silliest or most obscure topic expecting nothing to come up, then receive pages of hits on the topic. Yet here you are searching for references about an important topic and nothing of much help comes up.
i share your frustration re too little info, like water water everywhere...
i hope you eventually find more information. yes, keep looking
Wow, you are right. I never thought about it really, but thinking of it now I cannot remember reading anything related to siblings of Aspergers or Autistic children - not that I have read much on those topics anyway. I am a huge fan of Temple Gradin and read all of her books (Autism) but I don't recall even one reference to siblings of the family.
It's sad you can Google "clown sex" and come up with more pages to read in a lifetime but when you need something useful and relevant, even academic articles are found wanting. Sorry
