  • I read that story and yes he did nail it. Gingrich was lying of course and he knew he was with the purpose of riling the base. Fortunately most people are not members of his target base and know better. Thus the 2012 election results.

Something related has me concerned. Republicans seem poised to allow the forced budget cuts in the sequester. If they are successful millions more will suddenly find themselves out of work. This in turn will bring the economic growth we’ve seen over the past 4 years to a screeching halt and likely sink us back into a European-like recession. Job losses will include law enforcement and teachers. Criminals will be released because the courts will not have the resources and manpower to handle their normal caseloads. Put that entire scenario together with Wayne LaPierre fearing people into running out to buy as many guns as they can, a thinly veiled sales pitch. Millions more out of work. Businesses closing due to a lack of purchasing power / guns all over the place. It’s like introducing a lit match to a box of dynamite.

  • Not to be out-douched, Mitt Romney’s now famous video hit the ‘net,
showing him calling 47 percent of the country “entitled” and saying that
they believe they’re victims and they want the government to hand them
    everything:

yeah they’re totally living large from these huge sums of handouts. i love “outdouched”

  • @bonmots - A friend of mine works for social services…she says family with three kids might be subsisting on a WHOPPING 600 a month…

  • @galadrial - And Newt Gingrich ran up a tab of somewhere over a million dollars at Tiffany. He’s mooched off the government big time.

  • @TheSutraDude - Newt Gingrich a great lobbyist for Fanny Mae? Basically Rommey’s folks was able to stop Newt in his tracks for his ways of making money. Basically Rommey is better able to hide his income and even that does not pass my scrutiny.

  • Thank you Welfare Queens lived in the Reagan Era before Pres. Clinton and welfare reform

  • @Ikwa - Actually Ikwa…not even then. They proved over and over that the whole Welfare Queen shtick was something that sounded good…but wasn’t real…even then. But it paved the road to hating people on welfare…

  • These same people who blame the poor for all of our problems have no problem with corporations that don’t pay any taxes at all, banks that only make a profit as a result of tax payer bailouts, giving the “job creators” tax breaks to increase their profits as they lay off workers and move everybody to part-time to avoid offering benefits, sending jobs overseas, using government subsidies to pollute our waters and earth (because, apparently, there is no such thing as “pollution” in their world, unless you consider the homeless to be pollutants) and who want the sequestration to happen JUST so they can blame President Obama for the recession that will follow. These same people that are ok with that, who pound their figurative chests here on Xanga, are no where near being wealthy, let alone as wealthy as their GOP heroes, so I can only figure they feel this way because they believe one day they will be. It’s ok to dream, but if you have to step on the throats of underprivileged children, senior citizens and the working poor to achieve it, then there is a very special table reserved for you in hell.

  • It’s impossible for just about anyone who really needs HELP in this day and age to actually get any. That’s the sad fact of life in America. You don’t hear about people trying to break out of France or Germany, do you? They actually get what they pay for from THEIR governments……..
